In the next non-real entry of the night, apparently the spouse has entered me in the Pro Solo event in Utah in August. Autocross, with some of the top people in the nation here, and with a Christmas tree (i.e. think drag racing lights) start. Not too conducive to my 'stall when I get off the clutch and on the gas too quick' start.... Yep. I'll have my ass handed to me all over the place. But it's experience. We are going to race a couple of local (non-SCCA) autocrosses, as well, so that I can get some more race experience before the Pro solo. Not like I'll be up for endorsements or anything like that. I'd just like to not be a complete embarassment. But hey. Mr. V. is really trying to encourage me in the AutoX stuff, and since I'm having too much fun for words, I'm not going to stop him. I'm just going to have to work on my starts between now and mid-August. Oh yeah. And I go for my road test tomorrow morning at 9am. I spent about an hour aggrevating Mr. V. as I practiced (with only a modicum of success) parallel parking. Now I just have to remember which way to turn the wheels on 'simulated' uphill and downhill parking, and I'll be okay. I hope.
