skibigsky's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just an update... Not to worry. I haven't moved to Australia, yet. Not that the idea hasn't sort of captured me. (But that's an entirely different story, and one that probably won't go here; unless it actually happens...) Not that I don't want to visit Miss Hiss, because I'd really like to (assuming that she's not off someplace else eating cakeys). But I won't be moving in the next couple of weeks. (My passport has long since expired, so I ain't going nowhere.) *ahem. I've got bronchitis, which probably didn't help my mood for that last post. I've been on antibiotics since Thursday, and should be good by next week. Being sick and having a lot to do (along with a cranky husband) didn't add to my mood. And definitely added to my desire to head to parts Very Far Away. Interestingly, I'm still not excited about skiing. Maybe because I'm still sick. But mostly because we are going to Vegas (well, south of Vegas, but really, is there much south of Vegas but California?) for another autocross. And frankly, I'm more excited about that, than going to Colorado and freezing my poor bronchial sacs for a few turns. And actually, I'd rather just be autocrossing; more fun, less risk of physical injury, and no standing around in lycra skinsuits freezing ones' assets off (as it were). Maybe when we've got snow on the ground, I'll be more in the ski mode. Now? Eh. I'm just not thrilled. Weird. Never have I reached this point in the year, and not been chomping at the bit to ski. Again, maybe it's because I'm sick. Or maybe because we've got this bitchin' Corvette in the garage (that I don't drive on the streets because it has been so lowered that I can't get it over the 'speed bumps' in our neighborhood without scraping the skirt at the bottom) and I REALLY WANT TO LEARN TO DRIVE IT FAST. *ahem. Really. I want to be speedy in this thing. And I can be. And I'm not EVER going to be as speedy as the ex-World Cup chicks, when it comes to skis. I'll still have a good ski season. But I'll be aching for the autocross season. (Do they autocross in Oz? Hmmm...
