skibigsky's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Happy New Year, kids! Wow. A new year. I'm not even going to bother to reflect on the last year. Other than to say that I'm happy that I got my driver's license, I'm really glad I raced at the Solo Nationals in Topeka (even if I had my ass handed to me), and I'm thrilled to race the Corvette this upcoming season. And there is so much tied to that that I can't even go into it. Really, kids, autocrossing has changed my life. I did have a bit of a shock today.... realized that my 3rd wedding anniversary is days away. The 3rd, to be exact. What the hell does one do for a 3rd anniversary? The traditional gift is leather. Hmmm.. Not riding the Harley anymore (bothers Mr. V.'s neck too much). So no leather. The 'modern' gift is crystal. Hello? Parents? Eh. Yeah. They've already sent us a ton of crystal for Christmas (some of which met an unfortunate end, in an event I won't get into....). Yeah. Um... I think I'm going to get some filet mignon, and some rock lobster tails and call it good. I'm getting a new pair of all-mountain skis (which I'm sure Mr. V. will declare an anniverary present....fine... no worries, and they will be great skis... I have an issue with getting skis as an anniversary present, but that's a personal issue... not his fault...). I can live with a good dinner. Frankly, I'm a little amazed that it has been 3 years. We've been together almost 4 years. Wow. It seems like a long time; it's not, but it still is. Definitely an exciting time. *grin. Never a dull moment! Still. Another new year. Amazing. I see lots of excitement ahead. I don't think I can define it, but I see excitement ahead. (Maybe it's that 405+ HP!) Who knows. Happy new year to all of you who are in my heart.
